Cory Alvarado returns for a second season on the men’s tennis team and is a two-sport student-athlete at Sage as he is also a member of the men’s cross country team.

Last season in tennis, he competed in eight singles matches for the Gators at fourth and fifth singles and went 0-8 on the season. He added time in the lineup at both second and third doubles for Sage in 2012.

He came to Sage after first attending Mercy College and joined Sage’s cross country team in the Fall of 2011, where he had an impressive season with the Gators. He helped the 2012 Gators garner a third place finish at the 2012 Skyline Conference Cross Country Championships as well as a spot on the 2012 USTFCCCA Scholar-Athlete Team.

He attended Onteora High School, where he starred scholastically in football, track and cross country. A team captain in cross country, he qualified for the nationals in track in the distance medley relay.

He is one of two Alvarado brothers at Sage as his younger brother, Sean is also a member of the Sage cross country and tennis teams.  He is majoring in physical education at Sage and is the son of Dean and Tammy Alvarado.
